Abstract

The article analyzes the concepts of "neutral" and "colloquial" in the syntax of verbal discourse in German language. The author examines the use of neutral and colloquial utterances, and determines the essence and the content of colloquial structures. Besides that, the article deals with systematic characteristics of speech and with the possibility of revealing the paradigmatic relations between the certain types of utterances. It also analyzes the concepts of strong and weak positions and their correlations with neutral and colloquial constructions.
